Family Advent

This Christmas season at GEC we want to help you, as a family, sit down and celebrate advent together. Advent simply means expectant waiting. At Christmas we see how the whole world was waiting for a savior.  That Savior was Jesus Christ, born as a baby to save the world from its sin.  Advent also leads us to look at Jesus and what he did at his death, burial, resurrection, and in his return to come.

In this packet you will find a devotion for each five weeks of advent, chronicling the birth of Christ. (Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Jesus) Each devotion comes with a corresponding craft you can do with your child. We ask that this season you grab a bible, take a moment with your child and read the Christmas story found in these devotionals. This is the true reason for the season. Jesus, God in the flesh, coming as one of us, modeling a perfect life for us, dying because of us, then raising victorious. So that any one of us, by faith in him, could be forgiven of our sins, and given a new life today. Our lives given power to honor him every day.
