Dear Church Family, our doors are now open with limited access. We can now gather on Sunday mornings. Below are more details explaining why all regular activities are not up and running at this time.

As many of you know, events and buildings are shutting down faster than we could ever have imagined. People are being asked not to meet in large groups to help hinder the spread of Covid-19. This message is to inform you of Glasgow Evangelical’s response to the happenings around us and what to expect in the coming weeks.

No matter what is going on around us, we always need to ask the question in regards to the condition of our heart and our relationship with God. We so often want to take things into our own hands, but when something like what is happening now takes place, we are forced to look at our hearts first. From the very beginning foundations of Earth, God has desired human hearts to seek Him and His truth. Being in the thick of Easter season, we know that Christ is the answer to our deepest needs in humanity. The Gospel changes the way we think, act, and live. When we are with Jesus, the things of this world become small and trivial. We know that Christ has overcome the world and we are His! This time of abnormality gives us a chance to draw nearer to God.  Listen to hear His voice.  There you will find comfort, courage, hope, joy and new ways to encourage one another in our faith.

Paul in his letter to the Philippians tells them:
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

As I have spent many hours thinking about how to communicate information to you, I have been praying and seeking God’s direction. Two major thoughts have risen to the surface. The first being that our church has never been about the building, but about the people. Second, that the world may be telling us to have social distance, but we need not distance ourselves emotionally or mentally with one another.

ALL church-sponsored weekly activities inside and outside the building are on hold during the quarantine. This includes the following:

  • Sunday morning worship services (Service Will Be Offered Online)

  • Bible Studies

  • Life Changers

  • Youth Small Groups

  • Children’s Church

  • Kids’ Konnect

  • Munchkin & Me

  • Wednesday Night Dinners

Also, the church (gym, classrooms, and kitchen) will not be open to outside events.

With human contact being limited, our responsibility of being the people of God is much more important than ever. It means that even though social distancing has been asked of us, we cannot shy away from caring for one another. Please, call one another, stay connected. Be concerned for each other, check up on one another, encourage, and pray with each other. Find out needs that are available and please try our best to fill those needs.

As for the Church staff and Sunday Service:
We will maintain regular office hours 8:30-1pm Monday-Thursday. If you need anything, please feel free to call us so that we can help. The church building will remain locked during those times so please set up an appointment.

Sunday Service-We are currently have an online live-streamed service being offered for all to attend during our regularly scheduled service time at 10:00 am. You may view our service at our website tab "WATCH LIVE" or join us live at our Facebook page.

Why are we doing this? We are doing this not out of fear, but out of love for all people. We do not want to be a part of what could cause others to become sick. Just like you put on a seat belt not because you are looking for an accident but because you want to be safe if an accident comes your way, we are taking precautions to keep our community safe while obeying the rules set in place by our government.

Please, if any of you have any questions or needs reach out to our church staff.
